Job summary

Astute, in partnership with a leading renewable energy consultancy, is recruiting a Wind Farm Site Manager to oversee operations and maintenance across the Inverness region.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £48,000, with a pension, benefits and flexible home-based working. You will manage day-to-day site operations and coordinate with contractors, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience with HV/LV electrical systems.
• Maintenance, fault-finding and repair of electro-mechanical systems.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
• IOSH or NEBOSH advantageous.
• Renewable energy experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of wind turbine technology beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage safe, day-to-day operation of renewable energy sites, including inspections and emergency response.
• Operate and maintain HV/LV electrical equipment per Safety Rules.
• Manage permit-to-work system, ensuring safe completion of works.
• Review SSOW and risk assessments; ensure induction and competence.
• Coordinate PPM activities; ensure on-schedule work.
• Liaise with DNOs/Transmission Licencees re outages near system boundaries.
• Complete site inspections, audits, and reports; maintain H&S and O&M docs.
• Record incidents; support new site/equipment integration; participate in 24-hour on-call rota.

Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a leading renewable energy consultancy with a strong focus on sustainability, safety and professional development, to recruit a Wind Farm Site Manager to oversee operations and maintenance activities across renewable energy sites in the Inverness region.

The Wind Farm Site Manager role comes with a competitive salary of up to £48,000, pension, benefits and flexible home-based working.

Responsibilities and duties of the Wind Farm Site Manager role

• Manage the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of renewable energy sites, including inspections and emergency response.
• Operate and maintain HV/LV electrical equipment in line with relevant Safety Rules.
• Manage the permit-to-work system, ensuring works are completed safely and in accordance with company and client requirements.
• Review contractor SSOW and risk assessments, ensuring personnel are suitably inducted and competent.
• Coordinate PPM activities, ensuring works are completed on schedule and in line with HSE requirements.
• Liaise with DNOs and Transmission Licencees regarding outages and works near system boundaries.
• Complete site inspections, audits and reports, while maintaining accurate H&S, environmental and O&M documentation.
• Record and follow up incidents, support new site/equipment integration and participate in the 24-hour on-call rota.

Professional qualifications

• Experience with HV/LV electrical systems.
• Experience in maintenance, fault-finding and repair of electro-mechanical systems.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
• IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous.
• Previous renewable energy experience would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of wind turbine technology would be beneficial.

Personal skills

• A confident and experienced electrical professional with strong HV/LV knowledge.
• Safety-focused with a strong understanding of safe systems of work.
• Organised and capable of coordinating contractors, maintenance activities and site operations.
• Flexible to travel when required, with occasional overnight stays.
• Physically fit in line with industry/GWO requirements.
• Flexible to participate in an on-call rota.
• Able to work independently while maintaining strong communication with clients, contractors and internal teams.

Salary and benefits of the Wind Farm Site Manager role

• Competitive salary of up to £48,000.
