About the Role – Wills & Probate Solicitor / Legal Executive

This role will see the successful Wills & Probate Solicitor / Legal Executive take full ownership of a broad and rewarding caseload — covering wills, trusts, estate administration, and LPAs — working closely with families, executors, and third parties throughout every stage.

You’ll be empowered to provide tailored legal advice, build meaningful client relationships, and collaborate with peers to resolve sensitive or complex matters. Whether you’re newly qualified or already experienced in this space, this role offers the variety, autonomy, and support to thrive in private client law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and review wills, LPAs, trust deeds, and related documentation

  • Manage full probate administration processes, including obtaining grants and overseeing estate distribution

  • Deliver clear, empathetic legal advice to clients and families

  • Liaise with executors, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and other legal professionals

  • Collaborate with colleagues on high-value or contentious estates

  • Maintain meticulous case management in line with legal standards and firm procedures

  • Stay abreast of evolving legislation and private client best practices

What We're Looking For in a Wills & Probate Solicitor / Legal Executive

Must-Have:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (CILEX), with relevant Wills & Probate experience

  • Strong knowledge of estate planning, probate processes, and private client documentation

  • Excellent communication, client care, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational habits

Desirable:

  • Experience in handling high-net-worth estates, trust planning, or contentious probate

  • STEP qualification or ambition to achieve it

  • Local knowledge of the Grantham area and surrounding communities
