Job summary

Fleet-Serv is establishing a new commercial vehicle workshop at a DHL operation in Widnes and invites applications for an experienced HGV Technician. You will service, maintain, inspect, and repair a mixed fleet of trucks, vans and trailers, with fault diagnosis, MOT prep/presentation, and thorough online documentation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in HGV mechanics is required.
• IT literacy to complete online job documentation.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience preferred.
• HGV Class 1 license is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Service, Maintenance and Repair of a mixed fleet of vehicles and trailers.
• Carry out inspections.
• Complete MOT prep/presentation.
• Completion of all required paperwork using online systems.
• Fault diagnosis and rectification.
• Work safely and comply with H&S legislation and company procedures.

Job Description

Fleet-Serv is opening a new commercial vehicle workshop at a major DHL operation in Widnes, and we are looking for new staff to join our team. We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our team, carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs across a mixed fleet of trucks, vans, and trailers. The role involves fault diagnosis, MOT preparation and presentation, and accurately completing job documentation using online systems while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship. The ideal candidate will have previous HGV Technician experience, strong technical skills, and a commitment to delivering quality work in a fast-paced environment. We offer a competitive hourly rate, overtime opportunities, and a rewarding career within the transport industry. Salary Basic £22ph - Overtime paid at £5 on top of basic rate

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in HGV Mechanics
• HGV Class 1 license is an advantage but not a must
• Functional IT knowledge beneficial
• Minimum 2 years post qualified experience is preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Awareness of Health and Safety as it relates to our industry
