Overview
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of holistic, high quality, evidence-based care to patients accessing the gynaecology and early pregnancy services provided on the Women's Health Unit. The post holder will work autonomously and as part of the multi-professional team. They will be expected to undertake clinical procedures and extended roles, as indicated by service needs. Support and training will be provided where required. The role includes taking charge of the Women’s Health Unit after the induction period and ensuring appropriate use and allocation of resources.
Responsibilities
- Deliver holistic, high quality, evidence-based care to patients in gynaecology and early pregnancy services.
- Work autonomously and as part of the multi-professional team; undertaking clinical procedures and extended roles as required by service needs.
- Take charge of the Women’s Health Unit after induction and manage resource use and allocation.
- Participate in an integrated health and social care community across Derbyshire, with opportunities to work across different locations and providers.
- Provide support and undergo training as required, including a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing support.
Qualifications and Experience
- Motivated Staff Nurse with an interest in women’s health and wellbeing.
- Previous experience in a gynaecology setting would be advantageous.
- Be willing to work a flexible pattern reflecting the diverse range of care, procedures and treatments offered (e.g., day-case procedures, termination of pregnancy, early pregnancy care, emergency gynaecology assessment, and outpatient services).
- Be prepared for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Working Arrangements and Opportunities
- Working pattern may include early morning to evening hours (7am – 10pm) to cover the services provided.
- Role initially based in Chesterfield with potential future opportunities to work at other locations within the health and social care community.
- Flexible or predictable working arrangements may be discussed to accommodate service needs and patient care.
