Job description

Workplace Health & Safety Real Estate Due Diligence & Remediation Manager

You will partner with stakeholders worldwide to support real estate transactions, perform due diligence, and manage remediation projects. Develop Amazon standards and policies, and ensure program requirements are implemented and executed effectively. Assist in managing these programs at the corporate level, ensuring risks and liabilities are evaluated and mitigated during transactions.

Key skills include exceptional organizational and communication abilities, site assessment knowledge, understanding of the regulatory environment, and experience working with internal and external teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the primary contact for transaction teams on Amazon's due diligence program.
  2. Review environmental assessments, regulatory reports, health-risk assessments, and vapor mitigation plans.
  3. Investigate potential exposure risks from building materials or property conditions, including asbestos, lead-based paint, and vapor intrusion.
  4. Scope and manage Phase II site investigations.
  5. Perform vapor intrusion screenings and health risk assessments.
  6. Support and train teams to increase knowledge and efficiency.
  7. Draft mitigation plans for contaminated soil and groundwater during renovations.
  8. Coordinate with Legal, Real Estate, Construction, and Launch teams on mitigation and oversight.
  9. Review work by contractors, developers, and consultants.
  10. Assist Legal with drafting language regarding hazardous materials and contamination.
  11. Represent Amazon with property owners, consultants, and legal advisors.
  12. Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience as an environmental technical resource, program specialist, or project manager.
  • Knowledge of ASTM Phase I standards and environmental protocols.
  • Understanding of business transactions and legal concepts related to environmental issues.
  • Experience developing and implementing standards, policies, and programs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, growing organization.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
