We currently have a vacancy for a Day shift (back half) Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join the Amazon Australia Team. This position is within the Fulfillment Center (FC), reporting to the Regional WHS Manager. It involves working with the WHS team to uphold high safety standards within our FC. The successful applicant will be trained in the standard work and tools used within the WHS function. You should be a strong communicator, value teamwork, be proactive about safety, and be able to serve as a role model, engaging professionally with the entire FC workforce.

Key job responsibilities

1. Identify and report compliance issues, safety risks, and opportunities for improvement through regular inspections (daily, weekly, monthly).
2. Maintain necessary documentation to comply with Amazon and local regulations.
3. Record safety incident information promptly in the internal database.
4. Conduct safety observations and audits.
5. Coach others (e.g., Area Managers) to fulfill their safety responsibilities, including audits, safety rule adherence, and inspections.
6. Additional responsibilities may include fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety-related activities, depending on the business unit and location.
7. Participate in process improvement initiatives and ensure actions are completed.

This role is hourly, based on rotating shift patterns.

Shift options

Front Half - Sunday to Wednesday, day and night shifts.

Back Half - Wednesday to Saturday, day and night shifts.

A day in the life

This position is for Back End Nights.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
• Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field or a Cert IV in Safety.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Availability to work 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed.
