What will you be doing?

  • Delivering technical client projects on risk and regulatory issues for banking clients.
  • Supporting internal product development related to risk and regulatory topics, especially wholesale conduct risk and Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting (NFRR).
  • Advising clients on regulations, industry practices, and advancements.
  • Staying updated on latest trends and regulations, leveraging international SME support.
  • Applying skills to a broad range of regulatory and risk-related issues supporting regional and national propositions.

What will you need to do it?

  • Strong understanding of banks and trading businesses, including products, structures, governance, risk management, and controls in Banking and/or Investment Management sectors.
  • Familiarity with the ‘three lines of defence’ model.
  • Practical understanding of key bank functions like Front office, Market Risk, Product control, Treasury, and Compliance.
  • Strong stakeholder management and networking skills.
  • Excellent communication, planning, project management, and influencing skills.
  • Experience managing a team of professionals, with decision-making and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of regulation impacts on banking clients and awareness of new regulatory developments.
  • Flexibility to contribute to various banking risk engagements and work across the UK and internationally.

Advantageous skills include experience with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tools like MetricStream, higher qualifications in relevant fields, programming skills, and data handling with Python.

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge of regulatory and sector developments such as Risk and Control frameworks, Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting, FX Conduct, Benchmarks Regulation, Market Abuse, Front office controls, Short selling regulations, ESG Ratings.
