We are looking for experienced Business Analysts to join our team at Portsmouth Water at an exciting time. We are embarking on a digital transformation journey to revolutionize the way we interact with our customers and operate our business. We have large technology transformation programs and smaller innovation projects, and we need you to play a critical role in developing new solutions to meet our business and project goals. This role will focus on ensuring the wholesale area of our business has the processes and technology required to meet industry obligations and internal efficiencies.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and facilitating workshops and interviews with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and aspirations
  • Defining the future business processes and system requirements needed by our stakeholders for success
  • Performing data collection, modelling, and analysis to support the development of business cases and beyond
  • Articulating process, system, and data requirements via Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting elements of testing to ensure the expected quality standards are met
  • Working closely with Project Managers, contributing to project governance including planning, status reporting, and risk & issue management
  • Working closely with Product Owners to shape our technology roadmap
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders to support driving projects to success
  • Supporting business change activities by providing content and review where appropriate
  • Helping to shape and define the Business Analysis team practices and processes to continually improve our ways of working

What do you need?

Skills, Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Excellent understanding of all aspects of Business Analysis with experience using techniques such as Business Process Modelling, MoSCoW, SWOT, etc.
  • Experience of the water Non-Household market including MOSL, CMOS, etc. (desirable)
  • Experience in a regulated utility environment and knowledge of regulation e.g. Ofwat, Consumer Council for Water, Department for Transport, Highways Authorities (desirable)
  • Experience with Asset Management systems in the context of field operations (desirable)
  • Experience using Agile tooling (preferably Azure DevOps or similar)
  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills across a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate problem statements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor communication language and style based on the audience and format
  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall delivery environments
  • Data-fluency with the ability to interpret, analyse, evaluate, and model data across a range of sources
  • To be an innovative problem solver to find new solutions to complex challenges
  • The ability to self-manage and be proactive in delivering work commitments to time and quality expectations

Job details: Full-time, Permanent, £46,475.00-£57,336.00 per year.
