Job summary

Igloo Ltd is seeking an experienced Wheels & Tyres Technician to join our busy automotive operation in Thurleigh. You will work within a skilled workshop team, carrying out tyre and wheel-related tasks across a range of vehicles while ensuring safety and high quality standards.

Responsibilities include tyre checks, fitting/removing tyres, balancing, alignment, and alloy wheel refurbishment when needed. A Full UK Driving Licence and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Tyre Technician or Tyre Fitter is essential.
• Alloy wheel refurbishment experience is advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Good knowledge of tyre and wheel fitting procedures.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions when needed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out tyre checks (condition, pressure, tread depth).
• Remove and fit tyres and wheels.
• Repair or replace faulty tyres.
• Check and adjust wheel balance, alignment and rotation as required.
• Perform general wheel and tyre tasks and support the team.
• Share knowledge with less experienced colleagues.
• Assist with alloy wheel refurbishment when required.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Wheels & Tyres Technician to join a busy automotive operation in Thurleigh.

Working as part of an experienced workshop team, you will be responsible for carrying out tyre and wheel-related work across a range of vehicles, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.

The Role:

As a Wheels & Tyres Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out tyre checks, including condition, pressure and tread depth.
• Removing and fitting tyres and wheels.
• Repairing or replacing faulty or damaged tyres.
• Checking and adjusting wheel balance, alignment and rotation where required.
• Carrying out general wheel and tyre-related duties as required.
• Supporting the wider workshop team with additional duties when required.
• Supporting and sharing knowledge with less experienced members of the team.
• Carrying out alloy wheel refurbishment work where required, with previous experience being advantageous.

The Person:

• Previous experience working as a Tyre Technician, Tyre Fitter or in a similar role is essential.
• Previous alloy wheel refurbishment experience would be advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Good knowledge of tyre and wheel fitting procedures.
• Able to work independently and make decisions when required.
• Willing to support other members of the workshop team and share knowledge and expertise.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
• Passion for working within the automotive industry.
