Job summary

Example Recruitment is seeking a Wet Trade Multi-Skilled Operative to join its Essex team. The role focuses on plastering, rendering, screeding and completing repairs in occupied homes across the area, delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will perform multi-trade maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, tiling and decorating, while adhering to health & safety standards and using handheld devices to update job information.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plastering or a relevant construction trade.
• Strong practical experience in plastering, rendering, screeding and associated wet trades.
• Competent in carrying out a range of general maintenance tasks across different trades.
• Previous experience working within residential repairs, maintenance or social housing is desirable.
• Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Own hand tools suitable for day-to-day maintenance work.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete plastering works including skimming, patch repairs, rendering, screeding and general making good.
• Undertake a variety of maintenance tasks across multiple trades, including: Basic carpentry; Minor plumbing repairs; Wall and floor tiling; Internal painting and decorating.
• Carry out repairs safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Update job information electronically using a handheld device.
• Ensure work is completed within agreed timescales and in line with company standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
• Liaise professionally with residents and colleagues to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Provide support to less experienced team members where required.
• Take part in an emergency or out-of-hours rota when necessary.

The Opportunity

An established maintenance contractor is seeking an experienced Wet Trade Multi-Skilled Operative to join its team delivering repairs and maintenance to residential properties across Essex.

This is a varied role suited to someone with a strong background in plastering who is also confident carrying out a range of additional trade tasks. Working in occupied homes, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality repairs while providing excellent customer service.
