Welsh Translator

Starting salary £29,588 - £33,951 per annum

The University is seeking to appoint a permanent, full-time Welsh Translator to join its Welsh Language Unit.

Overview

As part of a small translation team, the main purpose of the role is to provide the University with a high quality, customer-focused and responsive Welsh translation service. You will be motivated and able to work under pressure to produce translations of a high standard, within a timely manner. In addition to excellent translation skills, you should have experience of responding to translation requests, and managing your workload effectively. The content and nature of the work will be varied, reflecting the wide variety of academic faculties and professional services departments within the University. The Welsh Language Unit is also responsible for the University Switchboard, and you will be part of the call-handling team (on a rota basis), delivering a high quality bilingual service to callers to the University’s main phoneline.

Simultaneous translation skills are desirable, but not essential.
