Job summary

Academics are hiring secondary Welsh teachers to undertake several teaching positions across Cardiff. This is a good opportunity for experienced teachers and NQTs. You will be expected to teach pupils the rules of Welsh writing, reading, vocabulary, and pronunciation in schools that use English and Welsh.

Salary will be determined by qualifications and experience and will follow the client’s pay policy. Benefits include daily pay (£173 - £260), flexible working, PAYE payroll, straightforward

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Valid DBS check (Can be produced through us).
• Register with the Education Workforce Council (Can be produced through us).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Welsh teaching across English and Welsh schools.
• Establish relationships with pupils quickly and maintain engagement.
• Use assessments to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching.

Due to the demand for secondary Welsh staff, you will be able to see which schools would be a right fit for you. You will be expected to teach pupils the important rules of Welsh writing, reading, vocabulary, and pronunciation. These Welsh Teacher roles are located in English and Welsh schools, and they are due to commence in September 2026. Academics are an agency who specialise in temporary long-term roles which often lead to permanent contracts.
