Equal Education Partners is seeking enthusiastic Welsh-speaking Sports Coaches to work across secondary schools in Carmarthenshire. The role combines sports coaching with classroom supervision, suitable for coaches, sports graduates, aspiring PE teachers, or those with experience working with secondary pupils.

You will deliver engaging sessions, support PE departments, lead extracurricular activities, supervise classes in teacher absences, and promote safe, inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications

• Fluent Welsh speaker.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Confident working with secondary school-aged pupils (11–16).
• Flexible, professional, and reliable approach to work.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS if not held.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality sports coaching sessions to secondary school pupils.
• Support Physical Education departments during lessons and sporting activities.
• Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Encourage pupil participation, confidence, wellbeing and healthy lifestyles through sport.
• Support schools with extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures and events where required.
• Build positive relationships with students, teachers and school staff.
• Adapt to different school environments, subjects and year groups.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment at all times.

About the Role

Equal Education Partners are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Welsh Speaking Sports Coaches to work across secondary schools throughout Carmarthenshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for sport, physical education, and working with young people. The role combines sports coaching with classroom supervision responsibilities, making it ideal for coaches, sports graduates, aspiring PE teachers, or individuals with experience working with secondary-aged pupils.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging sports sessions, supporting PE departments, leading extracurricular activities where required, and supervising classes in the absence of teaching staff while ensuring students remain focused, engaged, and on task.
