Job summary

Aberystwyth University is seeking a Tutor to teach Welsh to the education workforce across Wales. The role is full-time on a fixed-term contract until 31/07/2027, funded by the National Welsh Learning Center, delivering courses at various linguistic levels.

You will develop materials, coordinate with school leaders, assess learners, and support distance learning. A degree and ability to teach Welsh to adults are essential, with Level C1 Welsh and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Degree and/or substantial experience of relevant work.
• Understanding of second language learning methodology and teaching Welsh to adults.
• Ability to create and adapt learning resources.
• Experience assessing learners and giving feedback.
• Strong IT skills for online teaching and administration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course material for education workforce at all levels.
• Organise and teach courses for staff across Wales.
• Engage with school leaders and senior staff.
• Ensure learner enquiries are handled promptly.
• Assess learners and provide progress feedback.
• Support learners using online learning resources.
• Contribute to Welsh language development and distance learning.
• Undertake health and safety duties related to the post.
