Wells Business Auditor
Role Synopsis
Internal Audit delivers a program of risk-based audits to provide impactful insights on bp's system of internal controls for senior leadership and the bp Board.
We are a global and diverse team of ~120 people offering exceptional opportunities to make a difference to how bp manages its principal risks, broaden experience and business knowledge and to practice leadership skills, including influencing senior management.
Internal Audit (IA) is looking to recruit a talented individual for a secondment into the Business Auditor scheme for a period of two to three years. The individual must have a background in wells engineering or operations.
The secondment is a development opportunity, which must be agreed with your 'home' business and entered on the basis that the selected individual rotates back to their home business at an agreed point in the third year of the scheme. The scheme requires the selected individual's 'home' business to track their progress during the assignment. On completion of the assignment, the 'home' business must facilitate the next career move for the individual.
The role involves being a team member, and potentially an audit lead, for audits covering wells risks and may support the broader program covering safety and operational, subsurface, projects, security and crisis-management, and non-operated joint ventures risks. The business auditor role works with teams of auditors to plan and deliver audits with the aim of providing impactful risk-based insights. The role requires business travel to bp's global operations, including bp offices, and offshore facilities, as appropriate. IA operates on a principle of eight fieldwork blocks per year which may include periods of up to three weeks away from home. To plan and prepare for travel, auditors are aware of their audit assignment's months in advance.
No prior audit experience needed. IA will provide in-house training and coaching to help develop and practice audit and leadership skills. The role will also contribute to the evolution of IA practices through transformation activities.
