BelleVie Care is seeking a Wellbeing Support Worker in Consett on a part-time basis. The role involves domiciliary home care, personal support, companionship and transport within the local community. We offer full training, weekly team meetings, mileage allowance and a real living wage. Driving licence and local residency are required for this role.
Consett, Northumberland, United Kingdom
BelleVie Care – we’re seeking extra special Care Workers to support people to live well at home! This is a Domiciliary Home Care Support role in our Consett team.
We are thrilled to be recognised as winners at the 2026 Home Care Awards with the GOLD award for Most Outstanding Independent Homecare Provider, Best for Recruitment, Retention and Staff Motivation & Best for Sustainability Initiative, all made possible by our wonderful support worker teams, which we would love for you to join!
Here at BelleVie Care, we are looking for people who know how a simple cuppa can warm the heart. That the power of a compliment can make someone’s day. By just holding a hand, teasing out a smile, or sharing a laugh can mean the world to someone who is alone or living with challenges you and I know nothing about.
It’s this compassion and hidden talent that you don’t think are worth putting on a cv, the parts of you that never really get to shine in your current job, the skills you don’t even know are perfect for care, that we seek out so we can ensure that the people we support can live their best lives at home.
Yes, we provide the usual help around the home, personal care, companionship, transport, and more. But that’s where the similarities with other providers end
Is this the same as a Care Assistant, Home Care Assistant or Domiciliary Support Worker role?
Yes it’s very similar, our support workers chose the title Wellbeing Support Worker to reflect their person centred, relationship driven approach to care. But as with these other similar care roles our support workers provide help around the home, personal care, companionship, transport and more.
Is previous experience required?
No. We hire people based on values, personality and attitude rather than experience. Around 50% of our Support Workers are new to care, so we are used to training people with all levels of experience.
What kind of things would I be doing?
Light cleaning, laundry, shopping, meal preparation, helping clients take medication, personal care (supporting someone to get dressed, toileted, washing and bathing), assisting clients to attend medical appointments, day centres, appointments and social activities.
Would I need to do personal care?
Personal care is part of the role, but you would get plenty of training. If you’d like to find out more about what personal care is you can visit our post here
Do I need my own car?
Yes, you will require your own car, or easy access to one that you are insured to drive.
What about for a role in our cycling team in Headington?
You don’t need a car, you just need to be a confident cyclist (we can provide a bike)
How much driving will I be required to do?
That will depend on the team you join, but as a rule we try to plan our rota’s so that there isn’t more than a 30 minutes drive between each of the people we support. We pay for your time and mileage whilst driving between visits.
What is the recruitment process?
1. Short phone call to discuss the opportunity.
2. Informal/conversational online video call led by a member of our care leadership team & a short 5 minute online values survey.
3. Final stage shadow shift with one of our current Wellbeing Support Workers, so you have a chance to see if the actual role is a good fit for you.
