Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to a pending pay award. The final salary will be adjusted in line with the nationally agreed pay award.

We are looking for a motivated, friendly individual to work as part of a team that provides a great experience to everyone that visits our leisure facilities.

As a Physical Activity Instructor, based at Cardigan Leisure Centre, you’ll lead on the delivery of our exercise programmes that include fitness classes, gym inductions, personal training, holiday programmes, and the Fit4Life project. We are seeking an individual who thrives on getting the best out of others by helping them to learn new skills and meet their full potential.

As a council, we are embarking on an exciting journey which will see a number of our Leisure Centres become Wellbeing Centres. These roles provide an excellent opportunity to be part of that journey as we contribute to the promotion of positive health and wellbeing of our citizens.

As a Physical Activity Instructor, you will assist the manager in providing an efficient and effective service and on a day-to-day basis will:

• Be responsible for co-ordinating and delivering our fitness programme, including fitness classes, gym sessions, personal training, and gym inductions
• Co-ordinate and deliver our holiday programmes, which include sessions for infants, juniors, and teenagers in partnership with the Active Young People Team
• Assist with marketing and promotion of the centre and the benefits of health and wellbeing
• Work alongside the NERS team to deliver the ‘Fit4Life’ project
• Handle customer and parent questions and queries regarding our exercise programmes

We are committed to providing a bilingual service to our customers, so a degree of fluency in Welsh is desirable for this post. Due to our opening hours, you will be required to work evenings and weekends as part of a shift pattern.
