Job description

Ceredigion County Council is looking to appoint a full-time, permanent Duty Officer at Lampeter Swimming Pool.

As the council’s lead service for delivering and developing physical activity opportunities, you will work closely with the management team to ensure that the service maximises its contribution to improving the health and wellbeing of the county’s citizens.

The Wellbeing Centre Service is embarking on an exciting chapter of change, and if you have the qualities and desire to play an important part in this journey, then we’d welcome your application.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Open and close the buildings, operate the centre on a day-to-day basis in the absence of the Team Manager / Co-ordinator / Support Officer, and be responsible for the security of the premises.
  • Supervise and direct the Lifeguard / Operation Attendants and other staff at the facility, ensuring the council’s resources are used efficiently.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of all Health and Safety legislation and practices where appropriate.
  • Assist citizens of all ages, responding to their inquiries and concerns, and ensuring they have access to up-to-date information.
  • Assist with the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and effective services to all customers and potential customers.
  • Assist with the delivery of swimming lessons and other classes as required.
