An arts organization in Scotland seeks an experienced creative facilitator to design and lead a 6-week workshop series aimed at reducing anxiety and social isolation. The role involves working collaboratively with participants to shape content, deliver engaging sessions, and evaluate their impact. The position requires familiarity with the venue and evidence of PVG Scheme Membership. A total fee of £1,020 is offered for the series.
We are seeking an experienced, creative facilitator who can design, lead and support our first workshop series (6 weeks).
OnFife has been awarded funding from Museums Galleries Scotland Creative Minds fund to work with Lynebank Hospital, Dunfermline offering activities and creative workshops inspired by our museum collections at Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries (DCLG) specifically designed for people experiencing anxiety and social isolation.
We want to create a welcoming, social space at DCLG where everyone feels included and where participants can use creativity and heritage to help to reduce their anxiety symptoms and feelings of loneliness.
There will be six blocks in total between August 2025 and October 2026, delivered in 6-week sessions. We want to involve participants in the first 6-week block in shaping the themes and activities of subsequent blocks.
We are seeking an experienced, creative facilitator who can design, lead and support our first 6-week workshop series to introduce participants to DCLG using mindfulness techniques, starting mid-August weekly through to late September/early October 2025.
Your brief will include:
- Your own familiarisation with DCLG (the venue), the collections (museum galleries), the special temporary exhibitions, our library and Local Studies provision – and our staff
- Identify opportunities to engage, over a six-week period, with people experiencing anxiety and/or social isolation through engagement with the venue, collections and services
- Design activities for each session (six in total) and identify any resources, materials, etc required for the sessions (budget available)
- Work with OnFife staff to agree promotional material advertising your workshop series (budget available for print, etc)
- Deliver one session per week over six-week period, based at DCLG
- Work with OnFife staff to introduce and use evaluation methodologies to capture the impact of your sessions on participants
- Work with OnFife staff and participants to gather their feedback and suggestions for future workshop sessions (these will be advertised as a separate Brief once themes and content have been identified)
We would offer a fee based on daily rate of £280 (£140 half day) totalling £1,020 for six week sessions (half day) to include your travel and subsistence and three days preparation and delivery time.
PVG Scheme Membership is essential and you will need to provide evidence of this.
