About the role

As Wellbeing and Activities Assistant, you will support the Wellbeing Coordinator in delivering a wide range of activities to engage residents' physical, cognitive, and social well-being. You will help maintain a safe environment, report changes in residents' condition, and assist with ordering and preparation of supplies for activities. You should have effective communication skills, understand how interaction supports well-being, have a positive attitude toward older people, and prior experience with older people in a residential or nursing setting.

Job responsibilities
  • Support the Wellbeing Coordinator in delivering a wide range of activities to engage residents’ physical, cognitive and social well-being.
  • Maintain a safe living and working environment and contribute to the professional image of the home.
  • Report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager and care staff.
  • Assist with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities.
  • Establish links with the local community (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to promote access to the wider community and intergenerational activity.
Shift pattern

Shift Details: 9.30 am to 5.30 pm, 11.30 am to 8.00 pm; one weekend in three.

  • Positive attitude toward older people and commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
  • Experience working with older people in a residential or nursing (Dementia) setting.
