The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with residents living with dementia
  • Have a genuine interest in residents’ wellbeing
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Be able to motivate participation in activities
  • Have good organisational and time management skills
  • Build residents’ self-esteem
  • Stay informed about new activities and trends

Role and responsibilities include:

  • Organising and coordinating tailored activities and group events, including themed activities based on holidays and traditions
  • Booking external entertainers and suppliers
  • Organising community trips, considering transport and accessibility
  • Contributing to a stimulating activity programme to enhance residents’ quality of life
  • Maintaining records of participation and reviewing resident needs
  • Keeping a portfolio of activities available within the Home and community
  • Participating in fundraising events

General duties:

  • Attending staff meetings
  • Completing mandatory and developmental training
  • Communicating effectively with staff, families, and professionals
  • Promoting safe working practices
