Job description

WELL SERVICE TEAM LEADER

required by our Client, an Oil and Gas Operator, to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in Algeria.

DURATION: 12 months on-going

ROTATION: 28 Days On x 28 Days Off

MOBILIZATION: ASAP

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage a team of Well Service Engineers.
  2. Manage contracts with service providers, ensure quality control, and oversee cost and vendor performance evaluations.
  3. Manage budgets for operating expenses and capital expenditures, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring well activities to align with corporate objectives.
  4. Mentor and support less experienced engineers, fostering skill development in a challenging, culturally diverse environment.
  5. Collaborate with various departments within the JV, including drilling, maintenance, construction, technique (engineering), exploitation, and various others to achieve operational and safety goals.
  6. Review, modify, and approve well intervention programs/procedures. These operations include, but are not limited to:
  • Acid Treatments
  • Dilution Water / Gas Lift String Installation & Retrieval
  • Solvent Wash & Squeeze
  • Fishing Jobs
  • Salt Wash & Squeeze
  • Emptying & Transferring Fluids
  • N2 Pumping
  • Frac Jobs
  • Corrosion Logging
  • Production Logging
  • Setting Plugs
  • Drift & Statics
  • BHP Buildups / Drawdowns
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and operational evaluations to ensure that well operations align with industry technical standards and safety regulations, promoting safe and efficient production.
  • EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
    2. 10+ years' experience in operations and production engineering, preferably with greater emphasis on experience in carrying out well interventions, fishing operations, fracture and acid stimulation, cased hole logging, slickline, and coiled tubing operations.
    3. Familiarity with reservoir analysis tools, production optimization techniques, and advanced well intervention methods.
    4. Proficiency in preparing and analyzing operational budgets, tender documents, and contractual agreements with service providers.
    5. Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Arabic and/or French is advantageous.
    6. Deep understanding of industry safety regulations and technical standards, ensuring compliance across all operations.
