Contract Length: 12 months

Industry: Oil and Energy, Engineering

Working Hours: 8 per day / 40 per week

Role Overview:

bp’s West of Shetland fields (Schiehallion, Loyal, and Alligin) form the Deepwater hub, operational since 1997. Recent investments include a new FPSO in 2018, 4D seismic in 2018, and high-density 3D OBN in 2022. • Define target objectives and desired outcomes for wells in line with the Depletion Plan, following bp’s well delivery processes. This includes well concept summaries, data acquisition, geological scenarios, pore-pressure and fracture gradient calculations, and operational planning.
  • Integrate subsurface data to describe the structural and stratigraphic framework, assess uncertainties/risks, and develop geological scenarios for reservoir outcomes.
  • Assist operations geologists with operational decision trees, pre-drill risk assessments, mitigations, and contingency plans.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across well planning, operations, depletion management, drilling, and completions teams.
  • Participate in operational discussions, providing real-time interpretations and supporting decision-making as per SOR.
  • Contribute to end-of-well documentation, lessons learned, and update subsurface models with new data.
What you will have:
  • A degree in geoscience or related field.
  • Experience in well planning and drilling, including UKCS experience.
  • Skills in seismic, geological, and petrophysical interpretation, and workstation proficiency.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A collaborative mindset with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Familiarity with Petrel software.
