Job description

37 hours per week, term time plus 5 days (40 weeks per year)

Actual salary: £24,289 - £26,571 (SFCA salary points 11-14)

We are offering an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in shaping this newly created position at the college. The ideal candidate will have a dynamic approach and a problem-solving mentality. This role provides the opportunity to develop the position to best meet the needs of our diverse student population.

Applicants should have experience and an interest in the development of young people, with recent knowledge of post-16 education and experience in dealing successfully with parents, students, and staff. An understanding of the developmental, emotional, social, and educational issues faced by young people is essential, along with awareness of the needs of individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and social backgrounds.

The role involves promoting positive attitudes towards regular college attendance among students and their parents/carers, and improving student attendance and engagement. The successful candidate will also be part of the safeguarding team; if already safeguarding trained, that is desirable, but training and support will be provided to achieve this qualification.
