Job summary

ALPADIA Language Schools Sa is seeking caring personnel for a residential summer camp in the London/Woldingham area. The role focuses on safeguarding, supervision of residence, and supporting students’ wellbeing throughout the programme.

You will build professional relationships with international students, engage in activities, and assist with arrivals, departures, and schedule adherence. The position offers a dynamic environment with on-site accommodation and opportunities for professional

Qualifications

• Experience in caring/house settings with juniors is preferred.
• Ability to maintain safeguarding and health-safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and promote wellbeing of all students.
• Monitor and supervise student residence for safety and wellbeing.
• Manage student behavior with appropriate sanctions or encouragement.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and report concerns as needed.
• Care for sick students in camp.
• Ensure accommodation is tidy and students sleep/wake appropriately.
• Assist with arrival/departure check-ins and activity execution.

Job Description

Join ALPADIA's team to make summer 2027 an unbelievable experience! We are looking for highly motivated people, who have the ability to engage and inspire young students, and who are looking for an enriching and educational experience themselves.

Key responsibilities

• Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all students in our care
• Monitor and supervise the student residence ensuring the proper safety, conduct and wellbeing of residents
• Manage students' behavior at all relevant times, with a judicious awareness of the need to sanction or encourage as appropriate
• Chasing and finding students who are missing from the programme to maintain high safeguarding standards
• Supporting and caring for sick students in camp
• Carefully monitor the host institutions' property, ensuring it is well looked after and any damage reported and investigated
• Prioritize the safety of students above all else, following our Safeguarding and Health and Safety Policy
• Be friendly and approachable whilst developing professional, positive relationships with students that help to enhance their overall experience
• Ensure any concerns, worries or questions students may have are dealt with sensitively
• Ensure any safeguarding concerns that come to your attention are dealt with sensitively, and information shared/escalated appropriately
• Ensure the accommodation is kept tidy
• Ensure the students go to bed and wake up at the appropriate times, accompanying them as necessary
• Assist in the arrival check-in / departure check-out procedures
• Assist with regular damage inspections
• Assist with running of activities and excursions where required
• Assist with any additional tasks as given by the camp management team

Qualifications

• Have experience working with Juniors in a care position

Desirable:

• Experience of working with children and young people
• Safeguarding and Welfare experience with under 18s
• Experience with multiple departments and teams
• Experience in a summer school environment
• Safeguarding Level 1 and 2
• Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
• Previous experience as a Welfare Officer, House Parent, or similar pastoral role in camps/schools.
• First Aid or Mental Health First Aid qualification.
• Experience working in a multicultural or international environment.
• Counselling, youth work, or social care background.
• Ability to speak another language.
• Knowledge of reporting procedures and welfare documentation in educational settings.
