Job summary

Woolmer Hill School in Haslemere is seeking a Welfare Officer to support wellbeing, safeguarding and personal development. You will work with the Welfare Team, DSL, SENDCo and external agencies to help students overcome barriers to learning and improve attendance.

We are an 11-16 academy offering a Health Cash Plan, wellbeing weekend, free on-site parking and strong professional development opportunities within the WMAT network. Closing Date: Thu 19 Nov 2026.

Qualifications

• Provide early intervention and targeted support for vulnerable students.
• Support students with emotional, social, behavioural, attendance or mental health challenges.
• Act as Safeguarding Officer and contribute to safeguarding culture.
• Work with parents, carers and external agencies, including CAMHS.
• Promote positive mental health, resilience and wellbeing across the school.
• Help remove barriers to attendance, engagement and achievement.
• Support the delivery of student wellbeing and personal development initiatives.

We are looking for a caring, organised and proactive Welfare Officer to join our dedicated pastoral team and play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing, safeguarding and personal development of our students.

Working closely with the Welfare Team, Designated Safeguarding Lead, SENDCo, Heads of Year, Attendance Team and external agencies, you will help students overcome barriers to learning, improve attendance and achieve positive outcomes both in and out of school.
