Job summary

James Elliman Academy is seeking a Welfare Assistant and Administrator to join a vibrant primary school. The role focuses on supporting children's welfare, maintaining positive relationships, and assist with safeguarding and health and safety.

The position is permanent, 36 hours per week, term-time only (38 weeks per annum), with a salary of £22,274–£22,957 including fringe allowance. The successful candidate will have strong English communication skills, be able to work well with staff and

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a school setting.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with children and staff.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and first aid in a school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support welfare needs of children and build positive relationships.
  • Supervise and interact with children and manage their behaviour in a supportive manner.
  • Assist with safeguarding, health and safety, and DBS processes as required.

Salary: £22,274 - £22,957 - inclusive of fringe allowance

Grade: 3

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday,

Work Pattern: term time only - 38 weeks per annum

  • enjoys working with children and can establish a positive relationship to help them with their welfare needs
  • has excellent communication skills
  • is fluent in English and ideally a community language
  • can supervise and interact with children and manage their behaviour in a positive way
  • has an understanding of first aid, health and safety and safeguarding issues in school
