Job description

Weldspec Glasgow Limited is looking for a NDT Specialist
  • Understand and Comply with BOS Shelf QHSE System & Policies.
  • Strictly follow instructions from his / her line Supervisor.
  • Perform NDT as per job requirement as per request received from QC Inspectors.
  • Liaise with the welding technician/foreman in order to identify the causes of welding defects
  • Evaluate and interpret the NDT results with respect to applicable Codes, standards, specifications and approved company procedures.
  • Issue the required NDT Records and send any non-conformity reports to the Quality Control Supervisor
  • Demonstrate each NDT techniques to QC Engineers and Authorized Inspectors prior to perform on the job.
  • Prepare reports for the demonstration of Techniques.
  • Maintain the NDT equipment and instruments in good condition.
  • Estimate the NDT consumables required for the type of work .
  • Perform periodic verification of the calibration as per Code requirements.
  • Coordinate with NDT subcontractor for other NDT requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in non-destructive testing, with a proven track record of leadership and project management;
  • Strong knowledge of NDT principles, techniques, and equipment;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications for data analysis and reporting.
