Salary: $42,400-$70,600

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a Welding Technician to join our team! We are looking for someone who will support our mission to deliver high-quality, technology-based services to our customers on time and within budget.

This person will work on technical projects assigned by the metal prototype manufacturing laboratory of the Armament Research, Engineering & Research Center at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey. Activities will involve support and task assignments related to research or technical issues relevant to current work activities.

What will you be doing?

This position is a key member of the manufacturing team. Duties include:

  • MIG welding
  • TIG welding
  • Welding fixture assembly
  • Titanium welding
What skills will the ideal candidate have?

The position requires the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
  • Pass drug and alcohol testing
  • Good mechanical skills and experience
  • High standards of quality and efficiency
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform in-process inspections
  • Certification to government welding specifications
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Team player with multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Basic PC skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a government driver's license
  • High School diploma required; college degree beneficial
  • Past or present military personnel are encouraged to apply
