The role

As a Welding Technician, you’ll be involved in a diverse range of tasks, including providing technical support, conducting audits, and supporting welding research and development.

Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting the Welding Engineer and Welding Development Manager during tender reviews, equipment assessments, and qualification processes, as well as:

• Carrying out welding research and development trials, and facilitating production improvements in structural and pipe joints
• Maintaining compliance with BS EN ISO and ISO standards
• Compiling welding procedures and qualifications for quality assurance and contract deliverables
• Liaising with third-party inspections for revalidation and welder qualification
• Monitoring welder qualifications and re-validation, including notifications and recalls

This role requires travel across various internal and customer sites.

This is a full-time position, 37 hours per week, based at Ashton House.

Essential experience

• Proficiency with Word and Excel
• Experience with portable arc monitoring systems
• Structural welding experience
• Understanding of manipulation and process production

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or proven experience in fabrication and welding
• CSWIP-3.1 or PCN Level 2 Welding Inspector (advantageous)
• HNC in welding fabrication (advantageous)

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national capable of obtaining and maintaining SC security clearance.
