First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International education business, seeking to recruit a Welding Lecturer due to growth, based at their Redhill (Surrey) depot.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan learning programmes for student groups and guide them through the learning process, including target setting, action planning, review, and progression.
- Deliver learning, plan, and undertake assessments across various programmes, utilizing diverse learning methods and technologies. Prepare essential documents such as assessment plans, schemes of work, lesson plans, learning materials, Individual Learning Plans, and assignments.
- Act as a Personal Tutor.
- Promote high attendance rates, follow up with non-attenders as directed by the Head of Department or Programme Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of student retention, achievement, and attendance using electronic registers; provide progress reports as required.
- Participate in team meetings, contribute to planning, development, and review activities, including course reviews and self-assessment.
- Undertake data checks as directed.
- Provide an outstanding learning experience, maximizing the use of ILT.
- Potentially act as Course/Subject Leader or Internal Verifier if required.
- Design and update Individual Learning Plans for students requiring Additional Learning Support, coordinating with Learning Support Assistants.
- Contribute to open evenings, parents’ evenings, and student recruitment activities.
- Collaborate with staff across college departments to ensure effective student service.
- Promote Equality & Diversity and Safeguarding in teaching and learning.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 or equivalent (achieved or willing to obtain).
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- Teaching qualification (or working towards) – desirable.
- Assessor and internal Verification Qualifications (achieved or in progress, within an agreed timescale) – desirable.
- Equality & Diversity Level 2 (or willing to obtain).
- Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults (or willing to obtain).
- Knowledge of current developments in FE/Adult curriculum and teaching issues.
- Understanding of relevant subject curriculum and quality improvement systems.
- Proven success in teaching and relevant curriculum experience.
- Experience with various assessment procedures and change management.
- Access to a personal laptop with camera and microphone, capable of remote work, including voice conferencing via Microsoft Teams.

Salary: £28,000 – £40,000 DOE
Hours: Mon to Fri, 37 hours/week
