Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority is seeking an experienced Welding Inspector to assure welding quality across engineering programmes at Culham, Oxfordshire. You will provide technical guidance, supervise inspectors and ensure compliance with international codes and QA standards.

You will work on complex components and novel materials, applying ASME/ISO standards while supporting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications

• CSWIP Welding Inspector certification (or equivalent) required.
• Certification within a category such as Visual, Welding or Senior Inspector.
• Knowledge of welding inspection codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Welding inspection to confirm conformance with drawings and standards.
• Verify materials, preheat/interpass and post-weld heat treatments where applicable.
• Supervise Visual Welding Inspectors and coordinate with engineers and suppliers.
• Maintain quality records and ensure auditable documentation.
