Job summary

Shirley Parsons Ltd is seeking a hands-on Welding Inspector / NDT Technician to join a leading UK defence-focused manufacturing environment. You will inspect welds visually, perform MPI/DPI, review WPS and WPQRs, and generate quality reports across complex components.

The role requires CSWIP 3.1 or PCN Level 2 qualifications and the ability to work in a busy fabrication setting. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be eligible for security clearance.

Qualifications

• CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector is essential.
• PCN Level 2 MPI (MT) required.
• PCN Level 2 DPI (PT) required.
• Experience in fabrication, welding or heavy engineering environments is needed.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding documentation.
• Knowledge of welding quality standards and inspection requirements.

Welding Inspector / NDT Technician

I'm currently recruiting for a Welding Inspector / NDT Technician to join a leading manufacturing business supporting critical UK defence programmes. This is a hands-on position working within a fabrication and machining environment, undertaking welding inspection, visual examination and NDT activities across complex engineered components.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct visual weld inspection activities
• Perform MPI and DPI examinations
• Review welding documentation including WPSs and WPQRs
• Support welding quality investigations and NCR activities
• Produce inspection reports and quality documentation

What We're Looking For
