If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as our next Welding Inspector (Field Engineer) at Hinkley Point C!
Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Welding Inspector/Field Engineer responsible for surveillance of quality compliance within designated sections of the Works, in accordance with NNB surveillance strategy requirements. You will be part of a team with the primary role to deliver NEC Supervisor duties described in the NEC contract, ensuring HPC Quality needs, targets, and expectations are met.
As the Field Engineer, you will report to the Construction Superintendent for daily guidance. You will be involved in site management issues and coordinate with other operational members of the site team.
You will also adhere to (and suggest improvements to) company policies, procedures, and protocols related to construction, health & safety, and other functions.
Pay, benefits, and culture

What you’ll be doing
You’ll ensure construction works meet high standards, check activities against contractual requirements, and report non-conformances. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will support accurate reporting and swift issue resolution, maintaining project progress.

Who you are
You will have a solid background in welding, NDT, mechanical engineering, or materials, with formal qualifications or vocational experience, and a good understanding of the construction industry standards such as RCC-M, BS EN, and ASME. You are detail-oriented, capable of inspecting welds on large projects, and familiar with safety-critical documentation like Inspection and Test Plans.
You should be able to build effective relationships with contractors, work in high-pressure environments, and stay organized. Experience in large construction teams is advantageous.
