A leading engineering firm in the UK is seeking a qualified Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.0) to work across multiple sites in Derbyshire and the West Midlands. The role involves conducting inspections to ensure the quality and safety of welds on various projects. Ideal candidates will have experience in stainless-steel fabrication and TIG welding. Competitive pay of approximately £350 per day plus benefits is offered. Immediate start available.

Job description

The company provides a variety of high-quality mechanical engineering services from process engineering and asset maintenance and repair to feasibility, concept, design, manufacturing and installation. They understand the challenges faced by their clients and provide services that maximise performance and minimise disruption. In addition, their specialist facilities team offer a hybrid service covering maintenance regimes and asset registers, delivering proactive programmes that ensure leaner facilities management. With mechanical installation contracts ranging in value from a few thousand to many millions of pounds for clients including Nestle, Coors, BASF and Britvic, they have experience of completing complex mechanical projects spanning a range of industries including food and beverage, brewing and distilling, pharmaceutical and chemical and industrial. This is an excellent opportunity for a Welding Inspector - CSWIP 3.0 to join the company's Derby office, supporting a variety of projects across Derbyshire and the West Midlands.

Duties

As a CSWIP 3.0 qualified and experienced welding inspector, you will be working across 3no. sites in Cannock, Lichfield and Burton on Trent. Typical duties will include ensuring the quality and safety of welds by conducting inspections before, during and after welding. You will also verify that welders adhere to specifications and welding procedures, check materials and documentation, and confirm that welds meet quality and safety standards using visual inspection and other testing methods. Other responsibilities will include verifying that incoming materials, consumables and equipment meet project specifications and checking welders and welding procedures are qualified according to the project requirements.

About you

Based ideally in the Derbyshire you will need to live within a commutable distance of DE14 1PT.

Demonstrable experience of inspecting general stainless-steel fabrication and pipe TIG welds.

Qualified to CSWIP 3.0 or 3.1.
