Overview

Welding Inspector – Bradford, West Yorkshire. Permanent | 37.5 hours (Mon-Thurs) | Up to £45k

What You'll Be Doing
  • Conduct interim and final inspections of fabricated parts in carbon steel and other metals
  • Carry out in-process inspections per quality/design plans
  • Review weld maps, weld logs, and test reports
  • Support internal audits, third-party inspections, and document control
  • Verify products meet customer and design requirements
  • Ensure control and traceability of materials and components
  • Oversee and maintain welder qualifications and welding procedures
  • Participate in NDT work and subcontract control
  • Collaborate with the Welding Inspector, Quality Manager, and Document Controller
What They're Looking For
Essential
  • PCN Level 2 or CSWIP 3.1 (or greater)
  • PCN Level 2 MPI and DPI
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings
  • Experience in a fabrication, pressure vessel, or welding environment
Desirable
  • Knowledge of welding techniques (TIG, MIG, SMAW, SAW)
  • Knowledge of: ASME
  • ISO (phone number removed)
  • ISO 9606-1/3
  • BS EN ISO 5817
  • Familiarity with PED and PE(S)R
  • Awareness of design standards such as PD 5500, BS EN 13445, ASME VIII
  • ISO 9001 and 14001 exposure
  • Willingness to train or mentor

Salary

Competitive and based on experience

Junior candidates from shop floor backgrounds with recent PCN certification will be considered. Senior candidates with pressure vessel/NDT experience may command £40-£45k.
