Job summary

Insight Employment are seeking a Welder Fabricator for a client in Bedford. The role requires reading and following fabrication drawings with a strong emphasis on quality and health and safety.

You will work on aluminium and steel using ARC MIG and TIG processes, following detailed plans and ensuring compliance with specifications. Applicants should be able to identify drawing or work discrepancies, maintain tools and machines, and collaborate with workshop staff to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Read, interpret, and follow basic diagrams and engineering drawings.
• ARC MIG and TIG welding experience in aluminium and steel.
• Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and follow diagrams and welding instructions to accurately create equipment and products.
• Preferably, candidate with ARC MIG and TIG experience in aluminium and steel.
• Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw gun, drill gun, and grinders.
• Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tools.
• Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods.
• Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times.
• Maintain inventory of manufacturing products and welding consumables.
• Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements.
• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
