Job summary

Nicholas Associates are recruiting for a Welding & Fabrication Team Leader to join a growing manufacturing business in Hoyland, Barnsley. The role blends hands-on welding with supervising a multi-skilled team in a busy production environment.

Leading daily operations, you will allocate work, drive output targets and ensure work is completed to required quality standards, while maintaining safety and housekeeping across the workshop.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in welding and fabrication environments.
• Experience leading or mentoring a team.
• Strong welding techniques including MIG/TIG.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-skilled welding and fabrication team.
• Allocate work and balance workloads to meet production targets.
• Provide guidance and technical support to team members.
• Conduct daily team briefings and maintain clear communication.
• Support hands-on welding when required.
• Ensure components meet specifications and quality standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specs.
• Maintain high health and safety standards in the workshop.
