Our submarines division is responsible for designing, manufacturing, supplying, and providing through-life support for nuclear propulsion systems supporting the Royal Navy's submarine fleet. We are a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy's nuclear submarine fleet and serve as the sole provider and technical authority in this domain.
The Welding Engineer will develop and implement various welding techniques, including manual, automated, and mechanized processes, to meet product and business requirements, particularly for Primary Circuit and Core components in submarines. They will influence the design and manufacturing of key components within the Pressurised Water Reactor system, ensuring the selection of appropriate welding techniques, processes, and procedures. The role involves driving continuous improvement projects from concept through to implementation, supporting manufacturing performance, quality, and flow, and liaising with manufacturing and engineering teams to provide expertise.

Desirable qualifications include professional welding certifications (e.g., IIW/EWF Welding Engineer, IEng, CEng, MSc in Welding Engineering), or substantial industrial welding experience. A UK minimum HND or equivalent in engineering is preferred.
