Job description

Job Summary

Provide Manufacturing Engineering capability to operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem-solving skills. Responsible for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology related to materials, tooling, part fabrication, and assembly.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Ensure customer requirements are fulfilled by adhering to this manual or providing alternative procedures in product planning documents for applicable programs.
  2. Develop and evaluate Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and their qualification results.
  3. Implement visual welding inspector written practices.
  4. Manage the training and certification system for welders and welding operators, including qualification and performance evaluation.
  5. Perform inspections and verify that work and records conform to aerospace standards.
  6. Certify welder qualifications according to aerospace codes or standards.
  7. Maintain knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, symbols, drawings, NDT, and quality procedures.
  8. Verify inspection records and documentation compliance, including PQRs, WPS, and NDT procedures.
  9. Witness WPS qualification tests and review compliance with codes and contracts.
  10. Ensure production welding and inspection meet standards.
  11. Conduct visual weld inspections and review inspection reports.
  12. Supervise and train welding inspectors and assistants.
Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Welding Engineering or related field.
  • Certification as CWI, CAWI, or equivalent (e.g., CSWIP 3.1) is preferred.
  • Good visual acuity as per AWS standards, including color perception tests.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with GTAW and/or EBW welding on aerospace materials like titanium, aluminum, stainless steel.
  • Experience with aerospace specifications such as AWS D17.1, AMS standards, or equivalent.
