We are currently looking for Welders with experience in MIG Welding, ideally on Steel but it is not essential.

The role is based in Milton Keynes at Wolverton Rail Depot (MK12 5NT) on a 6 Month Rolling contract carrying out works on rail equipment or vehicles.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

1. Pay rate: £28ph Umbrella (£20.84 PAYE) during codings, £30ph Umbrella (£22.33 PAYE) afterwards.
2. Up to 50 hours per week.
3. Working hours from 6am, Monday to Friday, with shifts between 10 and 12 hours.
4. Minimum Level 2 or equivalent in welding is required; those without Level 2 may be considered at a lower rate.

Weld Test Details:

Individuals will be invited to carry out 8 different types of MIG welds, including:

• Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, and Overhead tests between 6 to 8mm.
• 2mm Fillet weld Vertical-up (PF) Position.
• 6mm Fillet weld Overhead (PD) Position.
• 6mm Fillet weld Vertical-up (PF) Position.
• 2mm Butt weld Overhead (PE) Position.
• 2mm Butt weld Vertical-up (PF) Position.
• 6mm Butt weld Overhead (PE) Position.
• 6mm Butt weld Vertical-up (PF) Position.
• 1.6 Lap fillet weld.

The weld test will be conducted at the depot. If successful, candidates must pass a Medical D&A test.
