Salary: $25+ DOE

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Welding Lead

DEPARTMENT: Production

Location: 1216 4th Ave N. Kent, WA 98032

Hours: Full-time (6AM to 2:30PM, MF)

Open Date: Available now

Pay: DOE (Typical $28+) + 100% paid medical + quarterly profit sharing

Environment: In-doors, heated shop

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reports to the VP of OPS

  • Lead welder directing and training the welding team
  • Operate welding equipment, MIG & TIG on production parts
  • Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Determining the appropriate welding equipment and settings
  • Setting up components for welding according to specifications
  • Follow specific work instructions for each task
  • Keep accurate record of production and properly document your work.
  • Capable of inspecting parts using calipers and tape measures as needed
  • Perform in-process inspection on your work

Is courteous, personable and respectful of all fellow employees.

Works to keep self and fellow company employees safe and out of harm's way.

Ensures housekeeping and daily PM activities are being performed on machines.

Correctly accounts for quantity of pieces made and for clocking in and out of work centers correctly.

Competency Requirements:
  • 5+ years welding experience (can train)
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in a metal fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and converse in English.
  • Must have reliable transportation to be at work on time every day.
  • Must be able to record information required on shop traveler.
  • Must be able to read at arm's length customers' drawings, work instructions, and procedures in English.
  • Experience with Fanuc robot welders a plus.
  • Experience with Laser welding a plus.
  • Experience with sandblasting a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to sit, stand and move around continuously for up to 10hrs/day.
  • Must be able to lift thirty pounds without assistance and have full physical capability of all limbs.
