Job summary

Uplands Sheet metal in Kent is seeking a skilled sheet metal worker / welder fabricator for the workshop and on-site projects at ME13 9EJ, Faversham. The role covers stainless and mild steel pipework, staircases, balustrades and general fabrication with a focus on quality and safe site practice.

You should have TIG/MIG welding experience, be able to read drawings, measure up, fabricate and fit, and hold a valid driving licence. 50 hours/week with overtime available.

Qualifications

• 3 years fabrication experience required.
• Experience reading drawings and pipework fabrication.
• BS 9606 or similar coded welding advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld stainless and mild steel as per drawings.
• Work on site and in workshop; measure up and fit.
• Operate brake press and other fabrication equipment.

This Full time on site position offers great opportunities for career growth. We are currently looking for experienced sheet metal worker / welder fabricator with good site experience to join us in our workshop at ME13 9EJ Faversham, Kent. Typical projects include, stainless & mild steel pipework, staircases, balustrades and general fabrication. We specialise in non-ferrous as well as ferrous fabrication, crossing a wide range of sectors from food processing, power generation, agricultural, construction, industrial and marine. Work for a company where the work is varied, interesting & completed to a high standard. Preferred experience: TIG/MIG stainless steel & aluminium must be experienced Comfortable working on site, able to measure up, fabricate & fit. Pipe welding / fitting Able to read drawings Competent on a brake press Historical experience welding to a coded standard such as BS 9606 or similar is an advantage The right candidate will have comprehensive experience with workshop & site based working practices: construction / general industrial / marine Have own driving license, able to work well within a team & as instructed. 50 Hours per week 7am-5pm with optional overtime.
