Job summary

SARIA UK is hiring an Apprentice Welder Fabricator at the SARVAL site in Hartshill with travel requirements. This full-time permanent role offers 40 hours per week as you work toward a Welder Fabricator Apprenticeship.

You will learn to read drawings, measure and cut materials, and progressively develop MIG, TIG and MMA welding skills while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• GCSEs with English and Maths (or equivalent) are required.
• Positive, hands-on approach and proactive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and specs.
• Measure and mark out materials with engineering measuring equipment.
• Assist with cutting, shaping and preparing metal for fabrication.
• Assist with assembly, fitting and alignment under supervision.
• Develop welding skills using MIG, TIG and MMA techniques.
• Inspect completed work to meet quality standards.
• Support maintenance and repair activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment.
• Provide general workshop assistance and material handling.
• Work towards completing a Welder Fabricator Apprenticeship.

Apprentice Welder Fabricator

Location: SARVAL, Hartshill, with travel.

The Position

Applications are invited for an Apprentice Welder Fabricator based at our SARVAL, Hartshill site. This is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Learn to accurately measure and mark out materials using engineering measuring equipment.
• Assist with measuring, cutting, shaping and preparing metal materials for fabrication.
• Assist with the assembly, fitting and alignment of fabricated components under the supervision of experienced engineers.
• Learn and develop practical welding skills using MIG, TIG and MMA (Arc) welding techniques, where applicable.
• Assist in inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and engineering specifications.
• Assist with the repair and maintenance of metal structures, machinery and equipment components.
• Safely use and maintain hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment following appropriate training.
• Follow all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) procedures, company policies and safe working practices at all times.
• Provide support to the engineering team during planned maintenance and repair activities.
• Carry out general workshop duties, including housekeeping, material handling and equipment preparation.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Work towards successfully completing a relevant Welder Fabricator Apprenticeship while developing practical skills and technical knowledge.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning by seeking feedback, asking questions and actively participating in training and development opportunities.

The Person

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Full Clean UK Driving Licence
• Positive, hands‑on and proactive approach to work.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and safety conscious.

Salary

Apprentice rates depending on age.
