Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join a prominent engineering support team in Widnes. Responsibilities include fabricating secondary steel structures and interpreting engineering drawings. This permanent position offers competitive pay of £18.15 per hour, with potential overtime available. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience and competence in MIG welding.

Overview

Position: Welder / Fabricator
Location: Widnes
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday - Thursday (7.15am - 4.15pm) & Friday (7.15am - 12.15pm) - Overtime available mid week & weekends projects permitting
Package: £18.15 per hour + Overtime (£24.14 - £30.13 per hour)

Our Client is an integral cog in the world of engineering support for Key Clients across the UK with their manufacturing & construction requirements. We are currently looking for skilled welder fabricators to join the team and continue the business growth plans for 2025 as the projects keep rolling in.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings to produce accurate fabrications
  • Fabrication of secondary steel structures including ladders, platforms, staircases, and railings
  • MIG welding to a high standard (TIG and MMA experience beneficial but not essential)
  • Operate fabrication tools and machinery to cut, bend, and assemble materials to specification
  • Work independently and collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines
  • Support on-site installations as required by project needs
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
  • Adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in fabrication and welding within an engineering or manufacturing setting
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
  • Competency in MIG welding is essential; TIG and MMA skills will be positively considered
  • Previous experience fabricating secondary steelwork is highly desirable
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Flexible and responsive to operational demands, including occasional site work
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
