Job summary

Our client in Wickhambrook, Suffolk, seeks an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join the production team. The role focuses on MIG welding and sheet metal fabrication for high-quality agricultural machinery in a supportive, family-oriented environment.

Key duties include reading engineering drawings, assembling fabricated parts and helping the team hit daily/weekly targets with a focus on safety and quality. Overtime is available and a structured bonus and benefits package exists.

Qualifications

  • Experience as MIG Welder/Fabricator in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience with sheet metal and heavy gauge materials.
  • Ability to produce clean, accurate and consistent welds.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out MIG welding and fabrication on a variety of components.
  • Produce high-quality welds on sheet metal up to 20mm plate and structural sections.
  • Read and work from engineering drawings.
  • Assemble fabricated parts to required specifications.
  • Work with colleagues to meet daily and weekly production targets.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and safety.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch) with overtime available

Our client, a well-established and innovative engineering manufacturer based in Wickhambrook, Suffolk, is looking to recruit an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join their expanding production team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled MIG Welder/Fabricator with sheet metal fabrication experience to work on the manufacture of high-quality agricultural machinery within a supportive, family-oriented working environment.

The Role

As a Welder/Fabricator, you will be responsible for producing high-quality fabricated components and assemblies used in industry-leading agricultural machinery. Working as part of the production team, you will help ensure manufacturing targets are achieved whilst maintaining excellent standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out MIG welding and fabrication on a variety of components.
  • Produce high-quality welds on materials ranging from 1.5mm sheet metal through to 20mm plate and structural sections.
  • Read and work from engineering drawings.
  • Assemble fabricated parts to required specifications.
  • Work closely with colleagues to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and safety throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Support continuous improvement within the production department.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a MIG Welder/Fabricator within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience working with sheet metal and heavy gauge materials.
  • Ability to produce clean, accurate and consistent welds.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A reliable and positive attitude.
  • TIG welding experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
