Job Title: Welder / Fabricator
Location: Weymouth / Portland, Dorset
Salary 35,000 - 40,000

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Welder / Fabricators to join an engineering business located in the Weymouth and Portland. This is a hands-on, role ideal for individuals who take pride in their work, there maybe be some travel required, however you must be able to travel to Weymouth daily.

As a Welder / Fabricator you will be working as part of a team, responsible for delivering high-quality welding and fabrication work across various projects. In addition to your technical duties, you'll also be helping in mentoring less experienced colleagues-sharing your knowledge and helping them grow.

Key Responsibilities of a Welder / Fabricator

Carry out MIG and MMA welding on both aluminium and steel to a high standard.

Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet structural and aesthetic quality benchmarks

Assist with fabrication tasks in both workshop and on-site settings, ensuring timely and safe delivery

Provide hands-on mentoring and training to junior team members-offering constructive feedback and demonstrating best practices

Contribute to maintaining a strong health and safety culture across the workplace

Tackle a variety of marine engineering and fabrication tasks as project needs evolve

Essential Skills and Experience Of a Welder / Fabricator

Time-served or experienced Welder/Fabricator with a background in both steel and aluminium welding

Proficient in MIG and MMA welding techniques
Committed to working safely and maintaining high quality control standards

Reliable and able to commute to the Weymouth / Portland area daily

Comfortable working in a mix of indoor and outdoor site conditions

A proactive and supportive team player who enjoys helping others develop their skills
