Job description

A structural engineering company on the outskirts of Saffron Walden, Essex are currently looking to recruit a Welder / Fabricator.

This will lead to a permanent position after a successful 3-month period. This position is paying between 14 - 18 per hour, depending upon experience.

Summary:
The role requires a skilled individual to weld and fabricate structural components such as beams and columns. Responsibilities include drilling, operating guillotines and saws, as well as using fabrication equipment such as a brake press, hydraulic punch, plasma cutter, and fly press.

What does the position involve:

• As a Welder / Fabricator, you will be reading from technical drawings
• MIG & TIG welding thicknesses from 2mm - 35mm
• TIG welding of stainless steel for handrails
• Welding & fabricating of balustrades, gates, stairs, railings and bespoke metal structures
• Conduct quality checks to ensure the accuracy of welds
• Unloading & loading lorries where required

Candidate requirements:

• Driving Licence required due to the location of the site
• NVQ/Diploma, apprenticeship or similar qualification within welding/fabricating
• Ability to read from technical drawings proficiently
• Ability to work well within a team and to own initiative

Hours of work:

• Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm

Benefits:

• Saturday (Overtime 1.50) & Sunday (Overtime 2.00)
• Training provided by management within the company
• Weekly paid (whilst in 3- month probation period)
