Job summary

HSF Group in Bellaghy is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our team. You will read engineering drawings, set up components, and perform welding and fabrication to a high standard.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of welding or fabrication experience, good attention to detail, and can work well within a team while maintaining safe practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ welding or fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of engineering or workshop processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up components for welding in line with specifications.
• Read drawings and blueprints to plan and complete work accurately.
• Take measurements and prepare project layouts.
• Cut, join and shape materials.
• Use power tools, handheld tools and workshop equipment.
• Produce high-quality welding and fabrication work.
• Set up, adjust and operate welding units, equipment and tools.
• Maintain tools and equipment to a safe working standard.
• Follow company Health and Safety procedures at all times.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Setting up components for the welding process in line with specifications
• Reading drawings and blueprints to plan and complete work accurately
• Taking measurements and preparing project layouts
• Cutting, joining and shaping materials
• Using power tools, handheld tools and workshop equipment
• Producing high-quality welding and fabrication work
• Setting up, adjusting and operating welding units, equipment and tools
• Maintaining tools and equipment to a safe working standard
• Following company Health and Safety procedures at all times

Experience and Skills Required

Applicants should have:

• A minimum of 2 years’ previous welding or fabrication experience
• The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• A good understanding of engineering or workshop processes
• Previous experience in heavy engineering, desirable but not essential
• Excellent timekeeping and attendance
• A strong work ethic and attention to detail
• The ability to work well as part of a team and use your own initiative
