WELDER/ FABRICATOR


A vacancy has arisen for a Welder/ Fabricator to join our Engineering team. The role of Welder/ Fabricator exists to support the manufacturing, construction, and maintenance of metal structures, components, and machinery. This role operates nationally, and the post holder must therefore be flexible with willingness to travel.


The role briefly encompasses the following duties:



  • Perform MIG, TIG, and MMA welding in various positions

  • Monitor fabrication to prevent material distortion or defects

  • Inspect and measure components for quality compliance

  • Prepare and align parts for welding using precision tools

  • Report non-conforming materials to maintain standards

  • Follow manufacturing instructions and technical drawings

  • Maintain and service welding equipment and machinery

  • Complete documentation for welding and inspection tasks

  • Adhere to health, safety, and industry compliance standards

  • Manage tools and maintain a clean, organized workspace

  • Collaborate with team members to improve production efficiency

  • Engage in training and process improvement initiatives


The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/attributes:



  • A solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories.

  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, MMA, and FCAW welding techniques.

  • Ability to use oxyfuel cutting, plasma cutters, and grinding tools.

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications and welding symbols.

  • Must be able to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes.

  • Must have the ability to weld in all positions with quality.

  • Must be able to read tape measure, pressure gauge, level and square.

  • Ability to operate a Pendant Controlled Overhead Crane would be advantageous.

  • Forklift Truck licence & IPAF certificate would be advantageous although training can be provided.

  • Time served craftsman.

  • Flexible approach to work & location of work.

  • Willingness to travel.

  • A strong team player.

  • Ability to work independently and on own initiative.

  • Good communication skills, both with colleagues, other contractors and clients.

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines culture.

  • Full UK driving licence.
